Initially known as UnderScore, the group first came together in 2006 presenting itself with an unusual line-up consisting of just piano, bass guitar and drums and an original sound drawing on a wide range of musical influences from classical to modern day electronica. The video Struggling For Breath is dedicated to "little Carlo" and to all babies tragically dying from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The band's intiuitive blending of alternative-electro new-wave, prog rock and intelligent pop became immediately recognizable for its unique sound.

The "Garden of Minds" sound is very mood-based and has a clear melancholic streak. In the beginning the sound was predominantly acoustic, inspired by folk music and the singer-songwriter genre, but later it developed into a special combination of acoustic and electronic elements, which also reflects the varied musical preferences of the band members.
