Bruskers

The Bruskers are Matteo Minozzi and Eugenio Polacchini, a guitar ensemble whose main feature is the melding of the two different musical worlds and ways of understanding the guitar which reflect the diverse musical education of the two musicians. Polacchini, who graduated in Classical guitar at the Conservatorio “Tonelli” in Carpi, epitomizes the typical “classical music player”, always capable of reaching the perfect execution. Minozzi, on the other hand, has studied under the direction of different guitar players and shows the artistic flair and unconventionality of contemporary and jazz music. The two musicians intertwine their personalities in this ensemble and the result is an extremely varied and eccentric mixture of ideas, sounds, and rhythms, all drawn tightly together by a common vision that counterbalances the contrasts and exalts the creative invention.

In the early days busking was the main interest of the duo who have performed in several street festivals both in Italy and abroad. In more recent years they have been looking for more intimate atmospheres and have performed in art exhibitions, theatre shows and private events. They have also had a lot of fun participating in various events on local radio stations.

Minozzi and Polacchini are both teachers at “Fondazione C.G. Andreoli” music school, and are also solo guitar players in the Lybra Guitar Orchestra. As the Bruskers they have performed together in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Hungary, and Portugal. In 2006 they recorded their first cd, "Blue Bruskers", a live collection of jazz and bossanova standards. They have also participated in a number of international guitar festivals such as "Arte a 6 Corde", "San Benedetto Po Guitar Festival" and "Acoustic Franciacorta".

In July 2009 the Bruskers released their latest album: "Guitar Sketch", a musical journey which takes famous jazz standards as its starting point and transforms them into an unconventional and daring mixture of original rhythms, creative flair and ingenious virtuosity. In 2010 the Italian label “Fingerpicking.net” reprinted "Guitar Sketch".
